I joke with my clients that my doula bag is my ‘bag of tricks’. I adore getting it re-stocked while I await the call from my next couple, that labour has begun and I’m about to meet a beautiful little soul in the coming hours.
I thought I would share what I pack, mainly so my clients don’t double up on unnecessary purchases.

- Plain massage oil
- Variety of essential oils (see link for exact oils and uses)
- Massage oil mixing dish
- Handheld massager
- HypnoBirthing scripts
- Acupressure handout
- Client paperwork including birth preferences
- Pad and pen for taking notes
- Variety of toiletries for myself including pain relief
- Hair clips, ties and head bands
- Snacks for me but always happy to share (nuts, dates, chocolate, porridge)
- Honey and plastic spoons (energy hit for mum)
- Tea cup and tea bags
- Water bottle
- Electrolyte drink
- Bendy straws

For the fellow doula’s, I use a large backpack to hold everything so I can have all my hands free when needed.
