BIRTH PARTNERS ROLE
Hey there Birth Partners!
So you’re here because your lovely, pregnant wife/partner/girlfriend/sister/friend has sent you to this page. She’s mentioned that she wants to do something called HypnoBirthing and you have some doubts.
I totally get this! Firstly, what a weird name – HypnoBirthing! We certainly didn’t make life easy for ourselves when we chose a strange name like HypnoBirthing. I think it makes people think of losing control, doing things you don’t want to do, clucking like a chicken, but mostly that’s it’s a load of sh!t that doesn’t work. The hypnosis we use is very, very different to stage hypnosis. I explain it in great detail during the course and we never do anything that you’re not comfortable with.
When you are experiencing hypnosis, you are sitting comfortably in a chair, listening to me talk. You can choose to accept my relaxations or not, it’s all totally up to you.
The other thing you are probably thinking of is the cash. I get that it’s a lot of money for most people, especially at a very expensive time when generally the birther may not going to be working for some time. For me, an amazing birth is priceless.
Being a support person to someone I love is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. The knowledge you need of the maternity system is massive, the confidence you need to advocate for the labouring mum is huge and the list of techniques and skills you require is long.
How you feel and act during this birth, can make or break the experience for both yourself and your partner. Why not do absolutely everything you can to prepare for this life-changing event.
During the classes, you as Birth Partners will learn heaps of info like:
- Massage techniques both soft and firm (acupressure)
- Positions you can suggest for labour
- How to setup the perfect birth environment
- Tonnes of verbal and physical cues to help your partner relax
- How to talk to your Care Provider in a confident, non-confrontational way
- How much water your partner needs to drink
- How often your partner should be going to the toilet
- Getting labour restarted if it slows down
- What a Birth Plan is and why you should have one
- Lifelong skills to help reduce your stress in your daily life
- Plus sooooo much more
My classes are relaxed and fun and there is very little double up from hospital classes. I’m giving you the missing piece of this crazy birth puzzle that you never even knew was missing!
Happy Birthing Vibes,
WHAT THE F@#K
My partner and I just finished Candace’s Hypnobirthing classes at Northcote Natural Therapies. We now have the tools to have a wonderful birth and feeling relaxed and positive about birthing. Candace kept us both engaged and inspired with her knowledge. I was nervous at first and through my partner would not sustain interest – So Kudos to you and the hypnobirthing collective! Thank you so so much ☺️
The HypnoBirthing Collective was recommended to us by a friend and it was amazing! I cannot recall a class that I have taken where I received so much value. We both learned a great deal about natural birth, but also how to navigate the often complex and daunting medical system especially given how squeamish I am! We left feeling much more confident, knowledgeable and empowered. The classes were also super fun and enjoyable and this is down to Candace. She is at the same time, kind, welcoming, incredibly knowledgable patient and professional. She also has a great sense of humour which is pretty vital in this type of thing! My wife has not yet given birth but we are very glad we decided to do the HypnoBirthing classes with Candace. I cannot recommend HypnoBirthing Collective enough.
